Abstract: 

 

        The purpose of this report is to build a device that can install to the hydraulic lifting cart, to help students work easily on the CNC machine. The main point of the proposal is designing a device that can carry, load, and unload CNC tool that weighs over 150 lb. to the CNC machine and in the store unit within fifteen minutes during lab time.  The methodology of the report focuses on the safety and easy performance for students working at the machine shop. The safety issue is the priority design in the project because the device works with light heavy-duty and in a high-risk area. From the result of testing the device, the device is balanced and performs excellently with multiple sizes and shapes of CNC tools. The device is also testing on the AutoCAD Simulation Mechanical program to qualify the safety before being used in the lab. The main issue of the device during manufacturing and performance is that the device is very heavy, even though the modeling was re-designed three times to make the device more efficient. Due to the safety factor, the device is required to be built by A36 steel square tube with 0.25 thickness. The highest recommendation while using the device is requiring two machinists perform when the device is loaded and unloaded the CNC machine.
